Children's Choreographic Group "Svitanok”
In September, 2004 the student of the Department of Choreographic Disciplines of Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University Maxim Pechenenko initiated the authorities of Kirovohrad Secondary School 25 to organize special classes for the pupils who liked dancing and who wanted to go in for this kind of art systematically.
In November of the same year these pupils gave their first performance on the school stage. Four months later a new-born choreographic group took part in the Kirovohrad dance competition "Stepovi Dzherela”. The group got the first prize among all the city's school choreographic groups. After the successful performance the group was invited to All-Ukrainian contest-festival "Dance with Anyuta-2005”. During this competition the group received the I Degree Diploma in the nomination of "folk choreography” and the group's name "SVITANOK” was heard for the first time.
In 2006 the ensemble was provided with a new well-equipped dance hall. Participants of the group are being taught by experienced choreographers: Maxim Pechenenko -artistic leader, Svetlana Pechenenko - the teaсher of classic dance and Stanislav Novak - the teacher of folk dance . They are constantly developing children's skills in classic and folk.
During 7 years of existence, participants of the group "Svitanok” performed on stages not only of Kirovohrad region, but also beyond its borders (Kiev, Kryvyi Rih, Mikolaev, Odesa, Luhansk, Berdyansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Truskavets).
In 2008 "Svitanok” performed its first solo concert.
On March 5, 2010 children's choreographic ensemble "Svitanok” was awarded with an honourable status of the Exemplary Artistic Group of Ukraine (after the decree №183 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine). "Svitanok” received "Grand Prix” awards in such contests:
Competition of choreographic art "Dance with Anyuta-2008”; International festival "The Pearl of Azov-2009”; All-Ukrainian festival-contest of theatrical art "A Bright Country in Odesa-2010”; International competition of choreographic art "Spring Arabesques-2010”; International contest-festival of children's creativity"Uniting Children with the Help of Art-2011”; All-Ukrainian festival-contest "Together with Nicolas-2011”.
"Svitanok” was the only school choreographic group that participated in the III round in All-Ukrainian contest of folk choreography in the name of Pavel Virsky.
In the summer of 2011 ensemble "Svitanok” received two I Degree Diplomas of the International contest "Your Fairytale-2011” in Varna, Bulgaria. At the beginning of December, 2011 "Svitanok” was invited to be the main consul of Russian Federation during the Christmas fair in Odesa.
Nowadays there are more than 130 pupils (boys and girls) in the group, who are in love with choreographic art and can confidently say that the World is a Dance.
